Q. How do I pursue a career as a Dietician?

Answer: There are a few different routes to get into this field. The first route would be to pursue your HSC with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as your subjects. Follow this with a B. Sc. in Biological Science and then Post graduation in Food Science/ Applied Nutrition/ Food & Nutrition/ related course. The second route would be for you to complete your 10+2 in Home Science and Chemistry. Top this with a B. Sc. in Home Science and follow it with a M. Sc. in Home Science with specialization in Food Science/ Applied Nutrition/ Food & Nutrition. There are also a number of Diploma courses in Dietetics/ Food & Nutrition/ other related areas.

Q. What are the qualities and educational qualification required to be a Speech Therapist?

Answer: Working as a speech therapist would require immense dedication, hard work, patience and the willingness to put in long hours at a stretch, when the need arises. Clarity of verbal language, diction and tone are important for this profession. Ability to plan, coordinate, keep records, and monitor progress is required. A scientific bent of mind and the power of reasoning and observation are needed. Science students can opt for PCB in class XII followed by B.Sc. in Speech Therapy and Audiology, and then post graduation in the subject.
