YoungBuzz Counselor - Hi Shashank. Considering study options after 6 years of work experience (with BPO) is appreciable. As you have read, equity research analysts are the ones who help channels like CNBC to give daily recommendation on stocks or they help wealth management companies decide which stocks to invest in.
In order to become a successful equity research analyst, you will have to start with joining brokerage firms where in you can be a part of their R&D department to advise people on investments.
Global investment firms like Goldman Sachs etc will further not only stopp their R&D at Indian stock but will move to other markets too.
And mutual funds have their own in-house research division.
So, in short theres no dearth of opportunities if you are an expert in it.
While CAs with their strong analytical skills and familiarity with financial statements are ideally fit for these roles, a professional MBA degree can also help you get into the career.
Nevertheless, there are a few certification programmes available too with BSE, IIBF, NSE etc
Hope you find useful.
Kindly revert for further queries.
All the best, Shashank!
