Ybcounsellor - Dear Ronny,
An MMS is Masters in Management studies where as an MBA is Masters in Business Administration.Government of Maharashtra conducts a Common Entrance Test for candidates seeking admission to first year of two year full time post graduate degree course in Management namely Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Management Studies (MMS), Post Graduate Diploma Course in Business Management (PGDBM) and Post Graduate Diploma Course in Management (PGDM).

The MAH-MBA-CET would be administered by the Competent Authority, on its own or in collaboration with or through a professional agency with proven record of its competence and experience in such process of personnel selection through competitive examinations.

An MMS degree is equivalent to an MBA degree.

India has accepted the UGC format for course content and hence all UNIVERSITIES can give degrees, so they give a MBA degree, also known as MMS in mumbai.

All reputed institutes on the other hand, design their own courses according to industry feedback to gain reputation and hence they are not under the UGC, which means they cannot offer degrees and hence they offer diplomas.

The difference between all these degrees is only for name sake. The reputation of the institutes matter more that the name of the degree.

I wish you all the best
