Studyabroad Counselor - Dear Sanjay, Yes this will certainly suffices the 16 year requirement, so basically you will have a BMM degree with two majors - Journalism and Advertising which is fine and you can apply to any of the US Universities for a Masters course.

Abroad universities really prefer work experience, so you will be surely beneficial as compare to other student who dnt have work experience.Like in securing admission,getting an part time job, in securing departmental assistantships and so on.

I have another doubt. I am a Third Year Bachelors of Mass Media (BMM) student from St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Mumbai. Bachelors of Mass Media is a 3 year program run by Mumbai University. As this is my final year, I am majoring in Advertising, which is one of the options available. I want to pursue my masters in communications in the US. So, will a double majors be counted for the 4 year undergraduate equivalent of the US bachelors degree. By double majors I mean doing my final year again, with another subject as my majors choice. For instance, I will finish my Third Year BMM (Advertising) in march 2013 and then do my Third Year BMM (Journalism) after that. This will give me a BMM degree with two majors - Jounalism and Advertising, which counts upto 16 years of education. Will this be accepted by US universities?

Are you keen to pursue your masters from USA and Canada, as you didn’t mention any particular country because, GRE and Toefl test are only required for USA and Canada primarily.

In oder to secure an admission to a reputed university, your GRE range should 310-320.

Toefl- 100 above.
