Astronomy is a field in physical science. To develop a career in Astronomy, one would need a strong background in fundamental physical sciences like Physics and Mathematics. One should study Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 10+2 and then do a B. Sc. in Physics. Thereafter one can either do an M. Sc. in Physics or an M. Sc. in Astronomy and Astrophysics. To have a very prospective career, one should also do a Ph. D in Astronomy and Astrophysics. Only an M. Sc. may not be enough. You cannot do an M. Sc. in Astronomy and Astrophysics after BCA.
