As you know, doctors have various specializations and super specializations apart from being a General Practitioner/ General Physician (GP). To be a GP, you should at least have an MBBS. Better if you have an MD in General Medicine/ Medicine. But to be a specialist, you will need at least an MD (if you want to specialize in non-invasive methods of medical science) or MS (if you want to specialize in surgery) in a particular area of specialization. You can also do a Post Graduate Diploma in an area of specialization. You can also seek for qualifications from abroad like FRCS (Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh) and MRCP (Member of Royal College of Physicians, Glasgow).

To be a super specialist, you will need to have a DM (if you want to super specialize in non-invasive methods of medical sciences) or a M. Ch (if you want to super specialize in an area of surgery).
