I am planning to do a major in Chemistry after HSC. What does one study in B.Sc. Chemistry?

The curriculum of B Sc. (Chemistry) is a broad expansion of what you have studied in higher secondary, generally divided into Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry and Organic Chemistry.

In Physical Chemistry you will study about atomic and molecular structure of elements and compounds and the fundamental dynamics of atomic and molecular reactions, physical properties of matter, atomic and molecular structure, thermodynamics, states of matter, oxidation and reduction, acid and base, chemical equilibrium, chemical bonding, radioactivity, conductance and chemical kinetics.

Under Inorganic Chemistry you will study gases, elements, compounds and metals. Under Organic Chemistry you study in detail about atomic and molecular structure, physical and chemical properties of organic compounds and the mechanism of reactions with other materials.
