Is there any point applying for the SATs now? I heard that the Americans are cutting down on the amount of foreign students after Sep 11, 2002?

The Universities and colleges in America welcome and encourage international diversity on campus. This is especially true in case of institutions offering management studies. So even after the 11th September tragedy, US institutions have not cut down on the acceptance rate of foreign students. The Visa Office however has stepped up on scrutiny of the applicants papers. The investigation process has become much more rigid than before. But if you are a genuine student, extremely interested in acquiring a degree from the US and able to show financial support from verified sources and have compelling reasons to return home after the completion of the course, procuring a visa should not be a problem.

As for the SAT I, it is an essential requirement and though not needed by some institutions, is strongly recommended. The SAT scores increase your chances of getting admitted in good universities and hence you are urged to take the SAT.
