Working as a speech therapist would require immense dedication, hard work, patience and the willingness to put in long hours at a stretch, when the need arises. Clarity of verbal language, diction and tone are important for this profession. Ability to plan, coordinate, keep records, and monitor progress is required. A scientific bent of mind and the power of reasoning and observation are needed. Science students can opt for PCB in class XII followed by B.Sc. in Speech Therapy and Audiology, and then post graduation in the subject.
