These branches together help in the holistic study of the discipline and unravel the mysteries of the universe. As far as the educational qualification go, you need a B.Sc. in Physics followed by a M. Sc. in Physics/Astronomy & Astrophysics. This should be topped up with a Ph.D. in Astronomy & Astrophysics.
