Hello Astha, There are a lot of opportunities in the IT sector. It is the most grooming field where experts' demand is increasing gradually. In order to make a career in information technology, the first step is to get a basic degree that is graduation degree. You should have the supporting knowledge regarding the IT field like programming knowledge, some course or degree in IT, programming etc. You have opportunities to make a career in software, analytics, management, teaching or research. UGC NET exam is organized for selection of candidates for assistant professor and junior research fellowship. The candidates after qualifying the UGC NET exam, can apply for lectureship in the universities, become scientist or researchers, lab associates, counselors, publish an article, work as guest faculty or get a job in govt departments or PSUs. The minimum eligibility to apply for UGC NET exam is post graduation degree and no age limit for assistant professor but max 30 years for the JRF. There are various other courses which can help you to get the job in reputed companies like C, JAVA, mobile app developments, Android, data science, Data management etc. Hope it will help you. all the best for the future ahead.

As you are planning to develop a career in Information technology, it is recommended that you first acquire basic qualifications required by the companies in the field. Though it has been widely believed that doing a particular hardware/ software course or certification like MCSE, CCNA alone would be enough to pursue a successful career in IT, the ground reality is different. Most of the companies engaged in IT business require basic qualifications like BE in Engineering (not only Computer and Electronics Engineering but actually any Engineering degree will do), M.E, M. Tech, MCA, MBA with System specialisation, and M. Sc. in Computer Science/Electronics/Physics/Mathematics/Statistics. For entry-level jobs, these degrees are enough. Chances of getting a job might be enhanced if along with one of these degrees, you also have qualifications like MCSE, MCSD, CCNA, or training in any other good software course. For jobs other than at entry level, one needs to have work experience in IT technologies. Very few companies recruited people other than those with the above qualifications in the past and with the current downturn in the economy, there will be fewer companies recruiting people other than engineers, MCAs, Science post graduates and MBAs.

So your priority should be choosing a courses among MCA, M. Sc. in Computer Science/Electronics, and MBA.
