A Group Discussion can be defined as a formal discussion involving anything between 10 to 20 participants in a group.
It is an elimination process, usually conducted before the personal interview. One’s objective in a group discussion is to be seen, to have added meaningfully, in an attempt to achieve the logical conclusions.
By conducting such a discussion, an organization uses the opportunity to gauge whether the candidate has certain personality traits and/or skills that it desires in its members.
Candidates are given certain topics, given a few minutes to think about and then asked to discuss it amongst themselves for some time.
Group discussions are powerful tools that can allow an organization or company to come up with powerful ideas that were not previously considered. Not only is it a powerful tool, but it is a tool that has a low cost.
