Post Graduate Diploma in Development Communication
Full Time CourseThe course attempts to create professional communicators who can make effective and strategic interventions in various development processes. To this end the course attempts to train students to understand the use and potential of traditional and contemporary media such as print, radio, video and television while educating them about the specific social issues of developing countries in general and India in particular. On completion of their course the students are expected to find employment with developmental agencies, media set-ups, and government and non-government organizations as development communication strategists and media practitioners.
Course Information
Eligibility
Candidates who have taken their first degree in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Engineering or Medicine etc. are eligible to apply, provided they have secured 50 percent or more marks in aggregate in their first degree examination of a Course which is of three or more years duration after the 12th Examination.
Selection based on Written test, Individual and Group interviews.
Admission Process
The Admission test will be held as per the schedule given on page. The examination will comprise of a Written Test and an Interview to evaluate the ability and aptitude of the candidates.
The Written Exam will be held in Delhi. The paper will be designed to assess the potential talent of the candidates, their aptitude, general awareness and views over a wide area of knowledge. Short listed candidates will be asked to appear for the Interview. The Interview will be held in Delhi. The number of candidates called for the interview shall be three times the number of seats (category-wise) in order of merit provided that they have secured at least 33% marks in the written test.
Entrance Test
The following is the distribution of marks for the Entrance Examination:
Written Exam : 85 marks
Interview : 15marks
The List of candidates short-listed for written test and final interview shall be posted on the Centre’s Notice Board and website as per the admission schedule.
