Admission Process
- Ascertaining the availability of seats
Candidates should contact the Admission Office of the College, or the Admission Coordinators, or the Venue Coordinators at advertised spot admission centers, to ascertain the availability of seats and the fee structure.
- Provisional reservation of seats
Provisional reservation of seats may be done by remitting the advance installment as ascertained from the Admission Office, or Coordinators. The advance may be paid in cash at the college office and spot admission centers, from where the college cash receipts will be issued. A crossed A/C payee Demand Draft is required to be submitted for all admissions made through authorized educational consultants, or when forwarded by courier / post. The Demand Draft from any Bank should be made in the name of CMS EDUCATIONAL & CHARITABLE TRUST and payable at Coimbatore . The candidate’s name, selected course and full postal address with Pin Code and contact telephone number should be written in capital letters on the reverse of the Demand Draft. The receipt will be sent to the address indicated. A covering letter should be sent with the demand draft giving all particulars. Also indicate if HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION IS REQUIRED, or NOT REQUIRED
- Obtaining the Application form and Prospectus
The Application Form and Prospectus can be obtained in person or by post from the office of CMS Educational and Charitable Trust, Ganapathy, Coimbatore - 641006 or CMS College of Science and Commerce, Chinnavedampatti, Coimbatore - 641006.
The Application form and Prospectus are also available at advertised spot admission centers and in notified branches of the South Indian Bank.
The cost of the Application form and Prospectus is as follows: UG courses Rs 150/- PG courses Rs 250/- MCA Rs. 300/-
The Application Form and Prospectus can also be received by courier/post for which a crossed A/C Payee Demand Draft for the above mentioned amount plus Rs.50/- as courier/postage charges is required to be sent to the Admission Liaison Officer.
Eligibility and criteria for admission
Admissions to all the courses are on the basis of the marks secured in the qualifying examination.
Candidates for UG courses must have completed 17 years of age but should not to over 21 years of age as on the 1sl of July of the year of admission.
Admission is given on the clear mandate that those admitted will abide by all the rules (framed by the college or the university) that exist at the time of admission as well as those that may come into effect at a later date.
Any student violating the rules or regulations of the college will be liable to disciplinary action. Ragging in any form is strictly forbidden.
Original certificates/ testimonials required for filing the application.
UG Course
The first page of the SSLC book. Transfer certificate. Conduct certificate from the Head of the Institution where the candidate studied last. Statement of Marks issued by the Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent. Community certificate. Eligibility certificate, if necessary. 2 attested copies each of all the above certificates. 2 stamp-size and 4 passport-size colour photographs.
PG Course
The first page of the SSLC book. Transfer certificate.
Conduct certificate from the Head of the Institution where the candidate studied last. Degree certificate or provisional certificate. Statement of Marks issued by the University I Institute. Community certificate. Eligibility certificate, if necessary. Migration certificate. 2 attested copies each of all the above certificates. 2 stamp-size and 4 passport-size colour photographs.
All the original certificates as well as testimonials should be handed over to the Principal at the time of admission. Candidates will be informed of their selection by post. Those who are selected must join the college on the dates specified in the admission card.
Refunds and Withdrawals
A provisionally confirmed seat is cancelled by the candidates will entail forfeiture of 25% of the basic first semester fee. A written application along with the original receipt is to be submitted to The Admission Liaison Officer to process the refund. Refunds will be made by cheque, in the name of the student to the address indicated in the original application.
If the college is unable to provide a seat to wait-listed candidates, the full amount will be refunded. A candidate who wishes to withdraw from a wait listed seat, will also be refunded in full.
Discontinuation of Course
If any candidate discontinues the course, he/she will be liable to pay the entire course fee. The college reserves the right to cancel the admission, if any information provided by the candidate at the time of admission is found to be false or if the qualification of the candidate is not approved by the university. The management reserves the absolute right to enforce or keep in abeyance all the above rules and regulations for such time as they may deem fit. These rules and regulations are subject to change from time to time.
Due Dates for the Payment of Fee:
I Semester : At the time of admission.
II,IV &VI Semesters : 5th Dec. to 20th Dec.(without fine)/21st Dec.to 30th Dec.(with a fine of Rs.50/-)
III & V Semesters : 5th June to 21st June(without fine)/21st June to 30th June(with a fine of Rs.50/-
