Andhra Pradesh PG Medical Entrance Exam is held for admission to postgraduate courses in the field of medical sciences. The entrance test was formerly conducted by Andhra University. Now, Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences has taken the responsibility of conducting Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Medical Entrance Exam, in order to enroll students to medical and dental colleges affiliated to it. Candidates are finally selected through their marks in the entrance test and counseling.

As per AICTE guidelines there are three categories of admissions to Postgraduate courses-General, S.C/S.T and Sponsored. Admission to Post-graduate courses take place usually in the month of May / June, after the Osmania University B.Pharm final year results are announced. The admissions are conducted in the presence of the University PG Admissions Director in the college, by means of counseling, based on the GPAT ranks, for general and S.C/S.T category.
