B.A is a three years bachelor’s degree course wherein students can opt for any of the subjects in humanities and social science streams like English, history, sociology, economics, vernacular languages etc.
12th or its equivalent.
Selection based on Merit
Admission to Mahila Mahavidyalaya is through the entrance tests conducted by the Banaras Hindu University. Selection is through nationwide competition:
UET (Undergraduate Entrance Test) PET (Postgraduate Entrance Test) RET (Research Entrance Test)
The notification regarding entrance tests is advertised in all national newspapers. A separate Information Bulletin and Application Form has to be obtained for each course. The Application Form and Information Bulletin can be obtained in person or by registered post from: Office of the Controller of Examinations, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi-221 005.
Admit Cards are dispatched to the candidates by registered post. The merit list is displayed at Mahila Mahavidyalaya and is also available on the website www.bhu.ac.in. The admission process begins soon after the declaration of results. Candidates are issued call letters and are required to present themselves before the Central Admission Committee at Mahila Mahavidyalaya. The Committee offers counselling to the candidates in their choice of subject combination. The seat and subject combination is allotted on the spot strictly according to merit index. Hostel accommodation is not guaranteed. Admission to the hostels is also made in accordance with the merit index subject to availability of seats.
