Eligibility
Students who have passed the Gujarat 12th Board Examination are eligible for admission to the first year of College. Students who have passed from other Boards may apply for admission only after having obtained a Provisional Eligibility Certificate from Gujarat University. Candidates are admitted on the basis of their marks at the qualifying examination and a personal interview with the Principal and/or his delegates. Those who have outstanding achievements in any field of human endeavour are given consideration. These latter are treated as ‘special cases’. Christians and the discriminated classes (SC/ST/OBC) are given special consideration.
Admission Process
Certificates Required Students from boards other than Gujarat HSC Board are required to present a PROVISIONAL ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE from the Gujarat University along with their application form.
Students of colleges affiliated to the Gujarat University who desire to transfer to St. Xavier’s College must first check the possibilities of admission with the Principal. Those who are guaranteed admission are then required to produce a NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE from the Principal of the college they are leaving and later a TRANSFERENCE CERTIFICATE.
Students admitted to the first year are required to fill out the prescribed form for the CERTIFICATE OF ENROLMENT and hand it in at the College Office with their HSC Examination certificates and TWO true copies of their marksheet. This is to be done in the first week of July.
