You could try a short term course from various Film Institutes. I did a 3 months short term course from Ramesh Sippy Academy (RSACE). They are one of the best in Editing since they are teaching the future software which is Adobe where in most of the other institutes are teaching FTP. Also they have a 3 years degree program in VFX. There is no Graduation course in Film Editing in FTII, Pune. Editing and other courses (Direction, Cinematography, and Audiography) in FTII, Pune are now classified in three levels, each of 1-year duration. The levels (in ascending order) are: Basic courses in Film and Television (Eligibility: A degree in any discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent), Certificate course in Film and Television Editing (Eligibility: Successful completion of the Basic Course in Film and Television of FTII, Pune), and Diploma in Editing (Eligibility: Successful completion of the Certificate Course in Editing).

FTII, Pune does not offer any courses in Visual Communication Design. You can do a Bachelor of Design or equivalent course in Visual Communication Design from Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati and from National Institute of Design (NID), Paldi, Ahmedabad. For the IITG course, you will have to qualify through the IIT-JEE examination and for the course at NID, there is an entrance examination.
