It is difficult to pinpoint which option is better. Whether one option is better or not depends entirely on individuals. Success in a career depends on an individual. You should select MBA or MCA depending on your potentials your skills, aptitudes, interests, personality, and preferences. You should see whether your potentials match with the requirements or demand of careers after MBA and MCA.

Identifying your potentials would help you a great deal in choosing between MCA and MBA. It is advisable to get objective and scientific information on your potentials, vis--vis, your interests, aptitudes and personality to make the right decision. Career Guidance Centres regularly hold sessions to assess ones interests, aptitudes and personality. These assessments will reveal your true personality, interest areas and whether or not you have the aptitude required to succeed in these fields. Choose your degree course based on the requirements of the careers that are suitable for you.

As far as job opportunities after MBA and MCA are concerned, it can be stated that number wise, there are more opportunities for the MBAs than those for the MCAs at present. MBAs can get jobs in any industry but MCAs are confined to IT industry and IT functions of various industries. MBAs with specialisation in System/IT can also get jobs in IT industry as well as in IT functions of various industries. MBAs are general managers whereas MCAs are specialised to IT functions. So, opportunities for MBAs are wide whereas opportunities for MCAs are less. If you want to consider this issue only, then choose MBA.
