created: 22nd Mar 2017 Last Modified: 27th Mar 2017Depending on the extent of your disability, you can appear for Civil Services examination and Indian Forest Services examination. There is reserved quota for physically handicapped candidates in these examinations. For example, there is reserved quota in Civil Services Examination. To avail the quota, a person should have disability of 40% or more. However, you will be required to meet certain physical performance criteria as prescribed for the civil services. The same is hold true for the Indian Forest Services examination. Example of such criteria are: your performance in work performed by manipulating with fingers, work performed by pulling and pushing, work performed by lifting, work performed by bending, work performed by kneeling and crouching, work performed by walking, work performed by seeing, etc. For details you can look into the Appendix-III of Rules for Examination published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary dated 16th December 2000.
