    My Tests

I am doing 2nd year B.com and I want to pursue a career in Capital Markets. But I don't know the right path that I should take for such a career. I understand that Pune University, in collaboration with the Mumbai Stock Exchange, is offering a Diploma in Capital Market Studies. But I am unable to get further information on it. I want to know if there are other institutes that are offering training courses in Stocks and Securities. I even considered Diploma in Business Finance (DBF) of the ICFAI. But I don't know whether it will be useful for a career in capital markets. So please suggest me the right way.

Yes You certainly can prepare for capital markets but i would recommend you not just rely on capital market alone, there are other NSE exams also for which you should prepare for such as stock dealer, technical analysis, fundamental analysis and commodity market. For the preparation of all these exams i would recommend you to go for training from DICC. You can find all the information related to your query here: https://dicc.in/stock-market-courses.html

You havent mention which career in capital markets you would like to pursue. There are a few types of capital markets and there are a few careers related to capital markets. Examples of capital markets are Money market, Debt market, Stock market, Forex market, International Capital market, etc. Examples of careers in capital markets are Stock broking, Investment analysis, Portfolio management, Equity research, Forex dealing, Risk management, etc. Nature of job in each of these areas varies and therefore requirements also vary. So, it is important for you to first decide which career you would like to pursue in capital markets. You should read about these careers on various web sites like youngbuzz.com and wetfeet.com. If you cannot decide at this stage, then it would be a good idea for you to do an MBA with specialisation in Finance or CFA. If you want to get into a job right after your B. Com, then it is better that you do a short term program in Capital market operations. But remember, any such program does not guarantee your entry into the stock market, it only makes you eligible. For getting a job, you will have to approach broking firms and it is actually very difficult to get a job. We do not know whether Pune University offers a Diploma in Capital Market operations in collaboration with Mumbai Stock exchange. Mumbai Stock Exchange itself and UTI Institute for Capital Markets offers short term training programs in capital market operations.
