MSc Nutrition and Dietetics is a two year Nutrition and Dietetics post graduate degree program that produces professionals in the field of nutrition and dietetics who are recognized for their practical and public health skills in order to improve the health and lifestyle of the society as a whole. The eligibility for the program is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in Bachelor’s of Science Degree (Home Science or Medical or Non-Medical or Biosciences or Medical Science and Allied Medical or Nutrition and Dietetics or Food Technology or Veterinary Microbiology and Parasitology or Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology or Clinical Chemistry or Public Health and Allied Sciences) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST or JAM. (5% relaxation to North-East states and Sikkim candidates or Defence Personnel and their Dependents or Wards of Kashmiri Migrants) Nutrition and Dietetics which will help you in Constructing strong basic foundations in concepts of nutrition and diet plan, thus crafting skillful and be a notion ready nutritional experts for addressing the health challenges. If you have an inborn interest in cooking and exploring various cuisines from different countries, nutrition and dietetics is one subject which will help you explore how to design controlled diets. Based on the body mass index, you can design your own food charts that would summarise the quantity of fats, carbohydrates, and proteins which must be consumed everyday. The curriculum at LPU offers prime focus on fundamental and applied aspects of preparation and management of nutrition and diet plan for various age groups. Emphasis is given on case studies and inter-personal based teaching to develop skills in analytical thinking and reflective judgement by reading and discussing complex, real -life scenarios. Treatment of speech impairment, rehabilitation of deaf and dumb persons, stammering through psychological help and supportive therapy is called speech therapy and audiology. A speech therapist helps a person with speech impairment to learn language, reading, speech modulation, articulation etc in order to make a person able to communicate with others. Speech therapists also do voice evaluation and therapy aphasia therapy, accent modification, stuttering therapy etc.
