To get into medicine, you can study one of the medical science courses that are offered after 10+2 with Science (you must have Physics, Chemistry and Biology). The courses that are offered are MBBS (allopathic medicine), BDS (Dental Science), BHMS (Homeopathy), BAMS (Ayurved) and BUMS (Unani). To study any of these in Mumbai and Maharashtra, you have three options:

1) Appear for MH-CET (Maharashtra Health Sciences Common Entrance Test) conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Government of Maharashtra for admission to health science courses.

MH-CET will be held in April month every year. You can collect the information brochure and application form from your college/school on or before 8th March and submission of the form is in March month.

2) Appear for the CBSE-PMT examination conducted by CBSE and get admission into MBBS course in any of the 15% seats reserved for all India candidates in all the medical colleges in Maharashtra funded by the Government. The examination is held in May and last date of application for this years examination is over.

3) Appear for entrance examinations conducted by institutions where candidates are admitted through all India entrance tests.

For OBC candidates, seats in all Medical colleges are reserved as per Government of India policies. But all candidates have to appear and qualify in the MH-CET/ CBSE-PMT/ other entrance examinations to be considered for admission.
