With India being a signatory to GATT agreement and the implementation of TRIPS, the Indian pharmaceutical industry is going global. In order to meet global demands, many new fields are opening up that didnt exist yesterday. There are a few up-coming branches of pharmacy like Pro-drug delivery, Pharmacogenomics, Entrepreneurship development, Clinical pharmacology, Chronopharmacokinetics etc which will catch the fancy of many soon. Those who are academically minded should combine pharmaceutical and legal education to pursue jobs as patent lawyers or consultants on pharmaceutical and drug laws.
