I have completed my dip in printing technology and graphic communication. At present i am doing an animation course in maya (3d software) and my aim is to be in animation industry or in an industry where special effects and 3 dimensional computer graphics are used. Will a BFA in applied arts help me in a career in 3d animation

A BFA in Applied Arts is a very good basic qualification to have for a career in Animation. But it is not a MUST criterion of getting a job in animation and special effects. What is important is your skills in a number of animation and visual communication software like 3D Studio Max, Photoshop, Character Studio, Maya, Dreamweaver, Adobe After Effects, Macromedia Director etc. So, develop skills in a wide range of animation software. Skills only in Maya may not be sufficient qualification. Your Diploma in Printing Technology and Graphic communication will also help you.
