hi Shreya, Economics is widely used in every field or career options. The first step to have a career in Economics is to complete your graduation degree. After that, you will be able to apply for jobs related to economics in government finance department cabinet ministry, or other departments. Apart from the career mentioned in another answer if candidates want to make a career in the research or teaching can appear in the UGC NET or CSIR NET exam. the science stream candidates can apply for the CSIR NET while other stream candidates can apply for the UGC NET. The NET exam is held for the selection of the candidates for assistant professor post in the university level, for the JRF award and to pursue the Ph.D. The candidates who have completed post graduation degree are eligible to apply for UGC NET in their respective subjects or its related subjects. you can apply for a good job in following career option: • become assistant professor • get stipend or scholarship • Become a mentor or counselor • teacher in any institute • become an author or publish your articles • Get a good post in PSUs or government companies There are many good positions available for the graduate of post-graduate candidates in the government sector job. Yes, Prachi there are various careers in Economics that you could delve into. There are three sections where economists could work in, Government and Public Enterprises, Industry and Trade and also Banking and Finance. Economists are also involved in forecasting, research, market analysis, management, finance and analysis of policy etc. To pursue Economics, you need to apply for an Arts degree in your graduation level, and then specialize in Economics in the Post Graduation Level. You could get jobs in the Indian Economic Service, Reserve Bank Services, Public sectors and Corporate companies.
