After completing BCA, you can get a job as a trainee in the EDP/ MIS (Electronic Data Processing/ Management Information Systems) or in the Systems department of a company, as a trainee programmer in software development company, as a Marketing executive in a software/hardware distributing/retailing company, or as a Faculty member in a private computer institute. The number of job opportunities has gone down over the last few months but it is not impossible to get a job after BCA.

If you are a BCA, the best post graduate course you can do is an MCA. Most of the Universities and Institutes offering MCA need you to have Mathematics till higher secondary level. There are few institutes, which need you to have Mathematics up to class X. If you do not want to do a post graduation for 3 years or would like to do a course along with a job, then the alternatives for you could be a C-DAC course, a DOEACC B level course, or a NCST qualification.

You can do M. Sc. in Information Science from: School for Information Science & Technology, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Vidya Vihar, Rae Bareli Road, Lucknow 226016, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra-835215, Ranchi, e-mail: birlatech@bitsmart.com; North Maharashtra University, Post Box No. 80, Umavinagar, Jalgaon 425002; Guru Ghasidas University, P O Koni, Bilaspur 495009. Admission to all these courses are through entrance examinations.
