There is no specific course for automotive design in India. If you want to make a career in automotive design, you can opt for one of these options:

1) Study B.E/ B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering and try to get a job with an automobile company in their design department.

2) Study B.E / B. Tech in any engineering stream and then do a M. Des (Master of Design) in Industrial Design or an Advanced diploma programme in Product Design or any other equivalent programme. To study a B.E / B. Tech in Engineering, you need to have passed HSC with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

3) You can study B. Des (Bachelor of Design) or a similar Bachelors programme in Industrial Design / Product Design. To study this, you should have passed HSC with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

But mere acquiring of any of the degrees in design will not guarantee that you will become an automotive designer. The key is to get a job in the design department in an automobile company or get a job with a reputed automobile designer.

To study engineering, you can try to get admission in the Indian Institute of Technology at Kharagpur, Mumbai, Delhi, Kanpur, Chennai and Guwahati; Regional Engineering Colleges at Nagpur, Trichi, Warangal and other cities; VJTI, Mumbai; BITS, Pilani; College of Engineering, Anna University; Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University and other colleges.

For Industrial Design/ Product Design courses, you can try for admission in National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad; Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai (only M. Des), Delhi (only M. Des), and Guwahati (only B. Des); Apeejay Institute of Design, New Delhi, and other institutions.
